Where will my session take place?
Your  bodywork therapy session will take place in a warm, comfortable, quiet room. Soft music may be played to help you relax. You will lie on a table especially designed for your comfort.

Must I be completely undressed?
Most of my  bodywork techniques are traditionally performed with the client wearing loose comfortable clothing, preferably clothing that can be rolled up for the practitioner to be able to reach specific acu points on the neck, limbs, torso and back. or elsewhere.

Will the practitioner be present when I disrobe?
Since this is not a massage therapy practice, there is no need to disrobe.

Will I be covered during the session?
Should you find the room temperature to be uncomfortable, I can drape you with a blanket or cloth for warmth.

What does Kosho Shorei Energy Medicine feel like?

The therapy is non invasive, meaning there is no penetration of the skin with needles or probes. The use of an Aiki Wand, which has a blunt end, just touches the skin at specific acu - points. As the energy in the point is moving, you will become relaxed  as the session continues. This technique is a great modality for people who are looking for the benefits of acupuncture but are hyper- sensitive to needling.  Also. if a person has either a fear of needles or has had a prior bad experience with needling but good results post treatment, this technique would be a consideration

Are there different kinds of bodywork?
There are numerous types of bodywork; For patients who are severely energy deficient,  We can discuss which methods may be most appropriate for you.

What should I do during my bodywork session?
Prior to the treatment, feel free to ask the practitioner any questions about the technique or the upcoming session. During the treatment, make yourself comfortable. The practitioner will either gently move you or tell you what is needed throughout the session (such as lifting your arm). Many people just close their eyes and completely relax, communicating if/when they need more or less pressure, another blanket, or anything else relevant to the session. If you have any questions regarding the session or about the particular technique you are receiving, feel free to ask.

How will I feel after my session?
Most people feel very relaxed. Some experience freedom from long-term aches and pains developed from tension or repetitive activity. After an initial period of feeling slowed down, people often experience increased energy, heightened awareness, and greater productivity which can last anywhere from two hours or up to two weeks.

What are the benefits of an Energy Medicine Treatment?
It can help release chronic muscular tension and pain, improve circulation, increase joint flexibility, reduce mental and physical fatigue and stress, promote faster healing of injured muscular tissue, improve posture, and reduce blood pressure. My treatments are also known to promote better sleep, improve concentration, reduce anxiety and create an overall sense of well-being.

Are there any medical conditions that would make a treatment inadvisable?

This is a great question! On your initial consultation, we will have a comprehensive conversation asking you many questions which includes any medications you may be taking and any limiting physical conditions that may inhibit you from physically laying on a table. Treatments can be performed with the patient sitting in a chair and are just as effective.
